These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which you can use our website and place orders for goods by means of distance communication. By ordering in this way you are deemed to have understood and accepted these terms.

“Distance communication” means communication without the simultaneous physical presence of the supplier and the customer, e.g. by letters/emails/telephone conversations/website orders.

Making A Purchase

We accept payments by Paypal, Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card and GBP cheques. We require all monies to be paid at the time of placing your order. Orders paid for by cheque will be processed when the cheque has cleared.

Credit Card Security

All credit card numbers are encrypted by Paypal software when the order is placed. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Tax Charges

For all orders 20% VAT is included in the prices displayed on product pages. Our product pages may show prices excluding Vat and Including Vat.

Delivery Charges:

The cost of delivery is set as £35 + Vat. The delivery service will be supplied under a separate contract and will be charged separately. For your convenience we will give you a total amount required in respect of supplying the goods and performing the delivery service which can be paid together. If you wish for the two amounts to be billed separately, or do not require delivery, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.

Delivery Schedule

The Door & Floor Shop will endeavour to deliver your goods within 10 working days. If this is not possible we shall inform you as to the reason why and agree an alternative timeframe with you. If it is not possible to agree an alternative timeframe we shall reimburse you any sum paid in relation to the contract.

Delivery Date

The Door & Floor Shop will endeavour to inform customers as soon as possible of an approximate delivery date but shall not be liable for any losses as a result of not delivering at the indicated time.

Failed Delivery

All transactions are entered into on the understanding that the customer will be present and able to accept delivery of the products delivered to the specified delivery address on the date of delivery. If delivery fails because the customer is not present or is unable to accept delivery to the specified delivery address on the date of delivery, an additional charge may be made by The Door & Floor Shop to cover the cost of repeat delivery.

Inspection Upon Delivery

It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the goods at the time of delivery. Unless the goods are rejected at the point of delivery, and valid reasons for the rejection are communicated to The Door & Floor Shop, the customer will be deemed to have accepted the goods and confirmed that they are in good condition when delivered. Laying of floors, or hanging of doors,will be seen as an acceptance of an order.

Damages/Missing Parts

All damages or discrepancies to your order must be communicated to our office within 48 hours of taking delivery. Visible damage on delivery must be noted on the driver’s delivery note.

Product Images and Product Information

All product images are for general illustration of product type only. All transactions are entered into on the understanding that the photographic image of a product is not precise and subtle differences are inevitable.

The product information and prices on this website are as accurate as possible but the customer accepts that mistakes and errors can occur, and agrees not to hold The Door & Floor Shop or any third party updating and maintaining the website liable for any losses arising as a result of relying on any details displayed on our website. If you intend to rely on particular information expressed on our website you should make this expressly clear before placing your order.

Where a product is referred to as Solid it sometimes refers to Solid Engineered Construction as with Doors. If you require Solid Oak Doors, and you are unsure from the product description, please contact us before making an order as refunds cannot be given once a door has be ordered on these grounds.

Where a product is shown as ‘In Stock’ it does not necessarily mean the product is in stock with ourselves, but could be in a suppliers warehouse. If an item is shown as ‘In Stock’ but is subsequently found to be out of stock, we will contact you prior to processing the order and give you the opportunity to cancel if you so wish.

Your Right to Cancel:

Subject to the conditions and exceptions below, you may cancel the contract within the cancellation period.

The cancellation period in relation to the delivery service begins with the day you receive your order and ends on the expiry of the period of 14 days.

Notice of cancellation must be given in writing (whether by letter, fax or email) to The Door & Floor Shop at the given contact details found at the bottom of this page.


Cancellation After Delivery:

Should you wish to cancel the contract after the goods have been delivered, it is your responsibility to return the goods back to The Door & Floor Shop. The full order must be returned and received by The Door & Floor Shop in a new and unused condition and in the original packaging where possible. The Door & Floor Shop may, entirely at its own discretion, agree to a part of the order being returned but this must be agreed in writing with The Door & Floor Shop prior to returning part of the order. Unless it has been previously agreed otherwise in writing, The Door & Floor Shop will not refund part orders or returned goods that are not in a new and unused condition.

No refund will be given against doors or flooring that have been installed, unless they are deemed to have a manufacturing fault. In this case a replacement will also be offered.

PLEASE NOTE: Certain products may incur a restocking fee. Please clarify in writing at time of Order.

In the event that you require The Door & Floor Shop to recover the goods you will be responsible for our charges not exceeding the direct costs of recovering the goods.

Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The right to cancel will not apply unless the customer is a natural person acting for purposes which are outside his business.
Items that have been specifically ordered or manufactured for you and would not therefore be a stock item are non-returnable. We would advise that if you are unsure about an item then contact us before ordering. We can send samples of wood flooring and possibly find a way of you seeing a door.

Privacy Policy

The Door & Floor Shop do not disclose customers’ information to third parties and your personal information will never be disclosed to any other party without your express consent. If you ask, The Door & Floor Shop will advise you by email about special offers and new products from time to time until you request that The Door & Floor Shop remove you from any list of customers so electing.
